Rowntrees & Huntington maintained their recent momentum when they eclipsed Easingwold by eight wickets in division four.

Alan Robinson, with 48, was the only bright spot for Easingwold as they were pegged to 92-8, with Tom Shaw taking 3-9.

Shaw followed up with 33 runs before Nick Johnson cracked an unbeaten 38 off 20 deliveries to rack up his side’s third win.

Bottom-placed Drax were bowled out for only 72 in an eight-wicket defeat at Fenner.

Huby dropped off the leaders’ pace when they were well beaten at New Earswick, who had a 75-run advantage.

Former Huntington player Marcus Johnson marked his debut for Earswick by making 65, while Chris Smith (25) and Kev Barker (26) also made runs in a total of 169-5. Hugh Sheddon claimed 3-49.

When Huby replied, Rob Steele made 32 but Paul Stimpson’s 6-45 was decisive as Huby closed on 94.

Leaders Hull Zingari had little difficulty in overhauling the 109 posted by Malton & Old Malton and won by five wickets.

Malton’s demise owed much to a 7-16 return by Anthony Knowles.

Shaun Harland was easily the pick of the Malton batsmen in making 53. When Zingari replied, Mark Yates and Toby Sercombe each took a pair of wickets.

Patrington moved into second place after an opening stand of 166 between Marc Pollard, who made 113 not out, and Matt Dixon, who hit 63, set up a big advantage draw against Pickering.

Jordy Critchley was 41 not out as Patrington declared on 257-3.

M Buss then claimed 4-12 but M Butler’s 28 helped Pickering escape with a draw at 100-8.

Lowly Goole Town pulled off a shock when they inflicted an eight-wicket defeat on promotion-chasing Civil Service. Louis Sugden had remarkable figures of 5-4 in 12 overs, nine of which were maidens.

Sam Earle took 3-50 as Service, for whom C Heath made 25, were all out for 125. Goole then moved with ease to a winning 127-2.
