HEWORTH eased into second place in division five with an eight-wicket victory at Hornsea.

Oliver Nicholson grabbed 4-13 as the hosts were restricted to 118-8.

Lee Bradshaw (25) was one of only two Heworth batsmen to perish as Guy Wilkinson hit 32 not out to see his side to 123-2.

Chris Barlow (31) and Tom Eagling (29) helped Londesbrough Park reach 147 against Bolton Percy as Karl Martin took 3-35 and Mike Ferguson 5-20.

After the break, three Londesborough bowlers took two wickets, with 13-year-old Ciaran Brooke having the best figures of 2-4 in five overs. Bolton were dismissed for 101, with Martin left stranded on 25 not out.

Selby’s lead was reduced to two points when they were held to a draw by Welton & Brough.

Selby’s 175-8 featured runs for Tom Rich (27), Neil Darley (36), Graham Pearce (32) and Joe Romaniw (34).

Romaniw put Welton on the rack with 3-11, but they closed on 102-6.

Sheriff Hutton Bridge’s Steve Crowder upped his seasonal aggregate to 470 runs when he hit 72 in a win over York IV.

Tom Magee (27no) and Murray Coyle (24) carried them to 166-6 declared and York were blown away for 55 by Magee (5-25) and fellow paceman Danny Clipston (3-15).

An undefeated 51 by C Brewer set up a 36-run victory for Yapham which cemented Stamford Bridge at the foot of the division.

Joe Aconley had 3-22 as Yapham made 130-8 but Martin Pearson’s 4-40 helped dismiss the home side for 94.

Stillington slipped from second to fourth place after their unbeaten record was halted by 11 runs at home to Castleford.

Wayne Linton took 6-36 and Karl Simpson 3-16 as the visitors were all out for 102.

Castleford’s John Wells made 49 and then claimed 5-26 as Stillington were skittled for only 91.
