A LEVEL-PAR 72 was all York-born golfer Simon Dyson could muster from the second round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland.
But that represented something of a triumph for the Malton & Norton GC star, who fought back from three successive bogeys early on before staging a revival on the back nine.
Starting from the tenth at Kingsbarns, the second of the three courses played in the tournament, Dyson birdied the 13th before dropping shots at 14, 15 and 16.
Birdies at the third and ninth levelled his card but left the 2009 champion well down the field going into his third round today at St Andrews.
