YORK City juniors fought back twice to earn a 3-3 draw against Rotherham United at Bootham Crescent.
Dan Owers, Tom Owen and Jed Vale were the marksmen as the Minstermites recovered from falling 2-0 and 3-2 behind.
The visitors forged ahead early on direct from a free-kick and poor City defending down the right-hand side saw Rotherham double their advantage with only their second shot on target.
Steve Torpey’s teenagers fought back, however, with Owen tripped for a penalty that Owers converted.
City then got back on level terms when Owers beat the on-rushing Millers goalkeeper to the ball and found an empty net.
By half-time, though, United regained the initiative after breaking down the left flank again.
The Minstermites equalised for a second time when Vale powered in an effort from close range after Arran Hudson’s corner.
Owers then hit a post and Jassim Alali fired wide as the home side finished the game the strongest.
City’s Under-18s travel to Darlington today hoping to complete a Football League Youth Alliance North East Conference double.
