GOAL-POACHER Jamie Reed fired York City to a vital 1-0 victory over Fleetwood Town at Bootham Crescent.

The win keeps alive the Minstermen's hopes of gatecrashing the Blue Square Bet Premier play-offs.

After a low-key first half, City boss Gary Mills threw on Reed and Andre Boucaud at the interval.

Within three minutes Reed had fired into the roof of the net from close range, while Ashley Chambers also hit a post for the hosts.

The triumph moved City up to ninth in the table - seven points adrift of fifth-placed Fleetwood but with three games in hand.
