A FOUR-YEAR York Minster Engineering Football League premier division supremacy at hosts Copmanthorpe continued for Haxby United.

The Haxby visitors won 6-3, paving the way with a 3-0 half-time lead with goals from Chris Dyson and Darren Brandon and a Neil Holmes penalty.

Copmanthorpe countered bravely to level through Robin Bedford, Mike Cranswick and debutant Mark Hurst only for Haxby to step up the pace again with Dyson completing a second-half hat-trick.

Leaders Dringhouses achieved their first double over Kartiers in six years as they followed up their win in Selby with a 4-0 success.

Javier Shepherd, Jamie Williamson, Mike Byram and Craig McShane shared the home plunder.

Tadcaster suffered their first defeat in six games crashing 4-2 at Huntington.

Danny Franks gave the home side the lead but the visitors went into the interval in front courtesy of a Sam Farthing penalty and a fifth goal of the season for Tom Deighton.

Within a minute of the restart Franks equalised before Pete Laidlaw put Huntington in front with yet another free-kick and the win was confirmed late on when debutant Josh Leeming’s corner was volleyed home by Franks for his hat-trick. A weakened Hamilton Panthers were thrashed 12-1 at York RI and their misery was compounded as ex-Panthers striker Mark Woodward hit seven of the goals.

After an absence of five years, Selby RSSC celebrated their return to division one with a 3-2 home win over Post Office.

Rob Friar clinched the win with his second goal of the game three minutes from time.

Michael Heels and Rob Whitehead hit the Post Office goals with Andy Porter completing the scoring for the Selby side.

St Clement’s pushed their unbeaten home run to nine games after beating Thorpe 4-1. Scott Nicholas (2), Lewis Bootland and Kenny Sharman shared the home goals with Dean Wood replying.

Craig Allen marked his Hemingbrough debut by scoring the only goal of the game as his new club defeated Pocklington 1-0.

Wigginton toppled hosts Nestlé 5-2 with Ben Thompson, Eddie Clapham (2), Luke Roberts and Stuart Jenkins on target.
