YORK City’s bid to transform Bootham Crescent into a fortress gathered pace with last night’s goalless draw against Darlington.
While the Minstermen – under the charge of caretaker-manager Andy Porter for only the second time since the shock departure of boss Martin Foyle – could only muster a point, the share-all was the fifth home game on the trot in which City have not conceded a goal.
Meanwhile, the Football Conference has announced that this season’s Blue Square Bet Premier promotion final will be held at the City of Manchester Stadium.
The final has moved from Wembley Stadium this season following a potential clash with the UEFA Champions League Final.
After some consideration, the Football Conference believes that Eastlands, with a capacity of 47,715, ticks all the right boxes.
It will take place on Saturday, May 21.
