HAPPY Wanderers hero Sid Storey has died, aged 90.
The York City legend, who was based in Haxby, played 354 times for the club between 1947 and 1956, and was part of the Minstermen team that reached the FA Cup semi-finals in 1955.
Following his retirement as a player, he was a trainer at City between 1960 and 1964.
Long-time City fan and ex-Football League referee Graham Bradbury said: "He was a great bloke and a fantastic man.
"He was our oldest surviving player and will be sorely missed."
