ON-LOAN Rotherham winger Sam Duncum will stay with York City for another month - despite aggravating a hamstring problem.

The 21-year-old Millers player limped out of last night's North Riding Senior Cup final defeat by Middlesbrough.

Duncum lasted only 25 minutes before suffering a recurrence of the injury, which kept him out of last weekend's FA Trophy tie against Torquay and Tuesday's win at Forest Green.

He was taken off as a precaution and City boss Colin Walker will be assessing the extent of the damage today.

Aside from Duncum and full-back Anthony Lloyd, City fielded an inexperienced side against their youthful opponents.

And Minstermen coach Eric Winstanley hailed the club's youngbloods in the wake of their 2-0 defeat at KitKat Crescent.

"It's been a great experience for them and we didn't look second class by any means," said Winstanley.

"With us having two first team games a week, the North Riding Senior Cup gave the young lads the chance and they have competed well.

"It showed the quality of the players we have got coming through, and Middlesbrough were very complimentary."

Two second half goals from Boro's Jonathan Franks settled the tie, which attracted a crowd of 229.
