CARETAKER boss Colin Walker got his reign off to a flying start as York City beat hosts Weymouth 2-1 in Blue Square Premier.
Walker, who was placed in temporary charge of the Minstermen after the sacking of Billy McEwan on Monday, fielded a new-look City system and the move paid off.
Midfielder Stuart Elliott was dropped and Walker drafted in Danny Parslow to play as one of three centre-backs, with Mark Robinson and Darren Craddock operating as wing-backs.
City bossed the first half, creating a host of chances, but they only went in level at half-time thanks to 'keeper Tom Evans, who saved a Jefferson Louis penalty after a handball in the box.
Eight minutes after the break, City took the lead when a corner looped in off the back of Darren Kelly's head, and striker Craig Farrell scored his eighth of the season on 61 minutes.
Gavin McCallum thumped in a 25-yard shot on 84 minutes, but City managed to hold on to give Walker a perfect start.
