HUNTINGTON Rovers moved up to second place in York Minster Engineering League reserve 'A' with a 3-1 win over Dunnington.

If Rovers win their last three games then they will retain the title.

Paul Scaife put the home side ahead on Monday night through a magnificent free kick before Kieran O'Brien levelled for Dunnington with a set piece of his own.

Scaife then made it 2-1 with an impressive acute finish before Lee Bunce wrapped it up after the break.

At the other end of the table, Church Fenton and Copmanthorpe had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Tadcaster Magnets produced an upset over reserve 'B' leaders Osbaldwick, winning 3-1 and almost pulling themselves clear of danger.

Phil Smith (2) and Marlon Bentley bagged their goals with Matt O'Connell responding for Osso.

Harrison Signs and bottom team Heworth played out a goal fest - Karl Babaro (2), man-of-the-match Charlie Cook (2), Jacob Green and Scott Thomson netting for Signs in a 6-5 win which keeps alive their hopes of avoiding the drop.

They moved two points clear of Magnets, although the latter only need a win from their remaining two games to condemn Signs to reserve 'C'.

Andrew Walker, Adam Stobert and Jim Drew scored for Tockwith in a 3-1 success over Bishopthorpe United.

Wilberfoss confirmed their reserve 'C' champion status with a 4-1 victory at Fulford.

On Monday, Connor Larner hit a brace for York RI in a 2-0 win over Wheldrake whose misery was compounded by a 5-0 home defeat to Brooklyn on Wednesday.

Heminbrough beat Cliffe 5-1 in the Reserve Cup third round thanks to goals from Guy May, Liam Hallam, Chris Land and Nathan Parker (2) after Tom Collins had given Cliffe the lead.
