MALTON & Norton boosted their hopes of beating the drop in the York Minster Engineering League premier division with a vital 3-2 win over Copmanthorpe.

The Monday night result saw the Ryedale side go back above Sporting Knavesmire to third from bottom, and dragged Cop into danger, just three points ahead.

All three sides have four games left in a bid to avoid going down alongside bottom club York Railway Institute.
