TADCASTER Albion are ready to “go again” in the Evo-Stik League north tomorrow at Trafford after last weekend’s goalless home draw with Atherton Collieries.

The sixth-placed Brewers are now unbeaten in eight league games and have earned five shut-outs in the process, but would have preferred maximum returns from the fixture as well.

Club spokesman Jay Taylor said: “Being the home side we would’ve really hoped for a win, but we’ve got to take the positives from the clean sheet.

“We never really looked like conceding but we never really looked like scoring either. It was one of them games that never really got going.

“But we’ll go again."

Tomorrow’s hosts lie in eighth spot and held Taddy to a 1-1 draw when the sides met in November, while last weekend they twice lost the lead in a 2-2 home draw with Skelmersdale.

“Trafford are a very strong, tall, physical side. We drew at home with them despite them having a man sent off so we’re expecting a tough game.

“They’re only a point behind us. They’ll be gunning for it, but so will we.”

Title-chasers Scarborough Athletic sit only four points off the summit ahead of tomorrow’s visit of Colwyn Bay as leaders Hyde United suffered a shock 2-0 defeat at lowly Ossett Albion on Tuesday.

Third-placed Boro on Wednesday eased into a North Riding Senior Cup final meeting with Middlesbrough Under-23s with a 7-0 win at Thornaby, while Colwyn Bay’s last outing was a 2-1 loss at Tadcaster.

National League North leaders Harrogate Town won their sixth on the trot with an emphatic 6-0 home win over FC United of Manchester on Saturday.

Tomorrow they travel to 17th-placed Tamworth who are winless since New Year’s Day. Their 0-0 home draw against Darlington on Tuesday was their fourth point from 10 games.
