HARROGATE Town are the new leaders of Vanarama National League North.
They took advantage of Salford City's match against play-off chasing Blyth Spartans being postponed due to a waterlogged Peninsula Stadium pitch.
Town hammered FC United of Manchester 6-0 to become the new front-runners, also notching their biggest win of the season at The CNG Stadium.
Jack Emmett opened the scoring after just seven minutes before Liam Kitching's header on the half-hour put Town well in the ascendency.
George Thomson then produced the pick of the goals, finding the bottom corner from just outside the area, to put his side 3-0 up seven minutes later.
The former FC United man claimed his second from close range with 14 minutes remaining before Jake Wright marked his return to the club with a fifth goal in the 78th minute.
Thomson put the icing on the cake, sealing his hat-trick two minutes into stoppage time.
In Evo-Stik Division One North, Scarborough Athletic missed the opportunity to go second when they suffered a 3-2 defeat at their Flamingo Land Stadium to fourth-placed Bamber Bridge, who are now four points behind them.
An excellent crowd of 1,123 saw Michael Coulson give Boro a 15th-minute lead, but Brig turned round 2-1 in front thanks to Lewis Nightingale's goal after 28 minutes and Adam Roscoe's four minutes later.
Regan Linney made it 3-1 after 66 minutes, although Jack Johnson's second for the home side in stoppage time meant a few anxious minutes for the Lancastrians.
