TEN-MAN Tadcaster Albion were denied the Evo-Stik League division one north spoils at Droylsden by a stoppage-time goal from substitute Steve Hall - and then some controversial refereeing.

Tom Corner's brace for Taddy was cancelled out in the dying moments, but the Brewers thought they were due a last-gasp chance to win it when the ball appeared to hit a Droylsden hand in the box - referee Jonathan Maskrey waving penalty appeals away.

Corner gave the Brewers the lead on the half-hour, flicking Conor Sellars' curling cross into the top corner.

But the Bloods drew level two minutes into the second half after they pounced on a Tad mistake in midfield, with Liam Caddick finding the bottom corner beyond Greg Hartley, who was making his debut in goal for the visitors in the one change to the side that beat Kendal Town last time out.

Corner netted his seventh of the season on the hour with another deft header to regain the lead, Josh Greening the provider from an inswinging corner.

But the Brewers were reduced to 10 men when midfielder Corey Roper was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Dylan Jones, just 20 seconds after coming off the bench. Roper appeared to win the ball in a 50-50 challenge but referee Maskrey unhappy with his follow-through.

Tad fought on admirably a man down and it looked as though they were going to see it out, only for Droylsden to pounce on a mistake in the first minute of stoppage time - Joel Dixon's scuffed clearance allowing Hall to poke the ball into the net.

Taddy were left furious after the final whistle, though, as they were adamant they should have had a penalty as Corner's shot was blocked on the line.

Droylsden, with a man advantage, had fancied a winner and pushed players forward.

But Taddy substitute Jason Mycoe intercepted in his own half and sent Corner through on goal.

Corner, seeking a hat-trick, raced through down the right and rounded keeper Ritchie Branagan. He was forced too wide to shoot but dribbled back inside before pulling the trigger and seeing his strike ricochet off two defenders.
