Jo Earl and Valerie Bell were on form for Cliffe who celebrated their first win of the campaign against local rivals Bubwith.

Copmanthorpe remain in touch with the leaders - Rhian Scott and Sarah Atkinson bagging 26 games in a 61-47 victory over Pocklington 2.

Rowntree Park were again only able to field two couples so crashed to a 83-25 defeat at Fulford 2.

In division six, Lynn Kent and Ann Hopwood amassed 24 games as leaders Copmanthorpe 2 enjoyed a 69-39 victory over Bubwith 2.

Poppleton 3 are hard on their heels, however, after scores of 20+ from all three couples enabled them to see off bottom side Dunnington 4.

Although Natalie Muir and Kim Lees dropped only a couple of games for Stamford Bridge, it was not enough to bring victory over division 7 leaders Rufforth.

York 3 remain unbeaten after inflicting an 80-28 defeat on a depleted Wilberfoss 2.

The League, meanwhile, was saddened to learn of the death of Jean Cross, a founder member of the FLITL and an active member at Fulford TC for many years.
