STRENSALL moved up to second in the York Minster Engineering League division two table after a 4-2 victory over Civil Service.

Tom Wood, Luke Quantock, and Jack Bell were on target for Strensall while Craig Theaker and Carl Shepherd scored for Civil Service who are now in fourth spot.

Goals from James Edmond, Chris Dyson and substitute Jon James fired York Minster Engineering premier division leaders Huntington Rovers to a 3-1 success at Malton & Norton and maintained their seven point lead at the top of the table.

Despite the best efforts of the hard-working Ryedale side, they just fell short of the Rovers performance and had to settle instead for a consolation goal from Scott Preston.

Defending champions Old Malton St Mary’s had to suffer a torrid first half against F1 Racing who led at the break through a superb goal from George Trifan.

However, two early second half goals from Grant Bulmer and Callum Scott changed the game and left F1 Racing exposed as they were forced to push on for an equaliser.

This vulnerability was evident late in the game when Marcus Godsell fired home to seal a 3-1 win for Old Malton.

Second-placed Wigginton Grasshoppers led Brooklyn by a 10th minute goal from Neale Holmes before Callum Dent levelled for the visitors.

However, Wigginton soon took control of the game and, when Jamie Willstrop sent two defenders the wrong way and lashed the ball into the net, the floodgates opened.

Willstrop went on to notch a double hat-trick with Matt Tiplady (4) and Gary Newton also adding to the home side’s haul.

The pick of Wigginton’s goals though was an 18 yard bullet of a free kick from Jordan Holt that left the goalkeeper with no chance. Bean added a second for his side as they went down 13-2.

Draw specialists Osbaldwick held fifth placed Dunnington to a goalless draw.

Sporting Knavesmire and Copmanthorpe also shared the points in their clash.

Knavesmire led at the break courtesy of an own goal before Robin Bedford equalised for Copmanthorpe.

Tom Owen then looked to have done enough to seal the win for the home side but a last minute effort from Lewis Chipchase forced the draw.

A Sam Drake goal gave Dringhouses a slender half-time advantage at Riccall United.

The visitors built on this in the second period with three further goals from Dave Watson (2) and Matty Mulhearn resulting in a 4-0 triumph.
