MORECAMBE could be without six players as they limp over the Sky Bet League Two finishing line with a final-day home match against York City.

The fourth-bottom Shrimps have endured a poor end to the season, taking just two points from a possible 18 from their last six matches.

Now, manager Jim Bentley is struggling to put out a full squad for tomorrow's Globe Arena clash.

Club captain and key midfielder Peter Murphy has been sidelined with cruciate knee ligament damage since January, while striker Tom Barkhuizen (heel) and right-back Shaun Beeley (thigh) are also unlikely to feature, having missed last weekend's 1-1 draw at Exeter.

Defender Andy Parrish, meanwhile, is doubtful having broken his nose in Devon and Bentley has problems at left back too, with Northern Ireland under-21 international Luke Conlan having returned to parent club Burnley after suffering a badly-gashed leg in the bruising Exeter clash and Laurence Wilson released this week.

Ryan Edwards should, however, return in defence following a bout of tonsillitis.

Ex-Minsterman Shaun Miller is expected to face his old club too.

The 28-year-old forward is Morecambe's leading marksman this season with 16 goals after failing to net in six matches as he finished last term on loan at Bootham Crescent from Coventry.

Miller has only hit the target once in his last five outings, though, leading to him being replaced by Cole Stockton after an hour at St James Park.

With 158, Morecambe's league fixtures have witnessed more goals than any other team in English football's top four divisions this season.

Conceding has been the team's biggest problem with a goals-against tally of 90 the worst in the division.

The team have failed to keep a clean sheet during their last 22 matches and, during the win-less run of six matches, have let in 20 goals - at an average of more than three a game - including a 7-0 thumping at Cambridge.

Seven out of the last ten home games have also ended in defeat.

Morecambe (probable): Roche, McGowan, Edwards, Dugdale, Goodall, Kenyon, Fleming, Wildig, Ellison, Devitt, Miller.
