YORK City have appointed Craig Hinchliffe as the club’s new goalkeeping coach.

Hinchliffe will succeed Andy Leaning in the position after the latter parted company with the Bootham Crescent club earlier this week.

The 43-year-old Scotsman has left his coaching role at Airdrie, having previously worked with manager Jackie McNamara at both Partick Thistle and Dundee United.

Hinchliffe played for Albion Rovers, Elgin City, Arbroath, St Mirren, Queen of the South and Partick during a 22-year career between the sticks.
