IF Adam Lyth continues to score the amount of runs he has done during the last 12 months for Yorkshire, I’m sure he will get an opportunity at Test level.

Not getting a game for England over the last few weeks has been an unfortunate situation, but all he can do is come back to us, score runs and make sure the selectors can’t ignore him.

That’s the best way to prove people wrong.

Will Rhodes has done a fine job as a replacement opener, but I’m sure Adam will come back in now.

We bat well together as an opening partnership, and we’ll just concentrate on getting some more big scores like we did last year.

We’ve got the majority of our England players coming back for our next game against Hampshire at Headingley next weekend, and that will strengthen our chances.

We are happy enough with our start to the season. Two draws and a win has been solid, but we are always striving to be better.

It just shows the strength in depth in our squad that we’ve competed in all three matches against Worcestershire, Nottinghamshire and Warwickshire and had chances to win all three having played good, aggressive cricket.

But you’ve watched us over the last couple of years, and we can get two or three wins on the bounce. If we do that, we’re rolling.

Even going into the final day against Warwickshire this week, we still felt we could win the game. Realistically, it was just probably too big an ask.

We were a little bit disappointed that, at the start of the game, they got 435.

We were disappointed that we didn’t pick up a few more wickets, although it was quite a placid Headingley pitch.

In our first innings, we batted poorly. There were a few dismissals in there which maybe weren’t the best, and they put us on the back foot.

Personally, I was disappointed that I only got two twenties.

First innings, I got an lbw, and I think it was clear to most people that I hit it. But to get in again second innings, getting out was nobody else’s fault but my own.
