JAKE DUCKWORTH and Danny Owers hit a brace apiece for York Minster Engineering League division two leaders Sporting Knavesmire as they beat Wilberfoss 7-0.

Knavesmire’s haul was completed by efforts from Alex Dale, Danny Smith and Ryan Gothard.

Barmby Moor are now the leaders’ closest pursuers following a 4-1 success over Bishopthorpe United.

Two own goals helped the home side’s cause, with Karl Laverick and Jack Lockwood rounding off their tally.

Chris Simpson struck twice to take his tally to 26 this season as Ouseburn collected a 6-1 win over struggling visitors Bishop Wilton, for whom Tom Knowles replied.

Keiran Harris was on target for Haxby at Fulford, but a goal from Dom Harris and a bullet header from Jordan Siswick settled the tie in favour of the hosts.

The only division three game saw Moor Lane go down 2-1 at home to Selby Olympia. Danny Rodgers struck for the home side.

Two double headers almost decided the promotion race in division four.

Cawood gained a maximum six points from their two games against Settrington to win promotion to division three. They won the first 6-2, with their goals coming from James Darlison (3), Daniel Smith, Darren Davis and Matthew Ward. The second game finished 4-1, with each of the previous scorers grabbing a single goal.

Bubwith are likely to be joining them after taking four points from their double-header against promotion rivals Wetherby Athletic.

Will Nicholson struck for Bubwith in the first game as the teams fought out a 1-1 draw, before goals from Craig Atkin and Ryan Sedman gave them an all-important 2-1 victory in the second match.

Bubwith need one point from their five matches to clinch promotion.

Huntington triumphed 4-2 over Wheldrake. James Smith and Steve Evans bagged for Wheldrake.
