TONY HACKWORTH was today (Wednesday, November 26, appointed the new manager of Pickering Town.
The former Leeds United and Scarborough striker has been given the job on a permanent basis after being in caretaker-charge for the past two weeks.
Hackworth, who was assistant to Mitch Cook before his sacking a fortnight ago, has overseen two victories before Pikes lost on penalties in a North Riding County Cup tie at Scarborough Athletic last night.
Said a club statement: "We are pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Hackworth as manager of Pickering Town Community Football Club with immediate effect.
"The club wish Tony every success for the future.
"There was a high standard of applications for the post and it was a difficult decision to make."
