Bowls: Floodlit Triples Trophy
THE final open competition of the year at Kirkbymoorside Bowling Club, the Floodlit Triples Trophy, was won by the rink skipped by Peter Owston from the home club.
The competition was sponsored by D Bumby Joiners & Undertakers, and the late chairman John Ward’s widow, Margaret Ward.
The rink also comprised Brian Flinton and Geoff Clark.
The last of Helmsley Bowling Club’s annual club competitions, the George Otterburn Triples, was won by Ruth Pyle, John Gray and Helen Thompson.
The runners-up were Bernie Andrews, Brian Garbutt and Colin Lofthouse.
