I am not absolutely convinced that this lad will automatically be selected as our number one goalkeeper. Lets give Michael Ingham a bit of credit for once, this young lad looks to be one for the future.. If he couldnt break into the Tranmere Rovers first team, after the season that they have had, then why should he be expected to become York Citys first choice goalkeeper. But Jason Mooney, at six foot nine, will provide some healthy competion for Michael Ingham. The pre-season games team selection will be interesting.
I agree Old-Head like you haven't seen the lad, he could be anything, he will certainly command balls in the air if he uses his box, long way to come done for balls on the ground,"

YORK City have signed 6ft 9in keeper Jason Mooney.

The Northern Irish shot-stopper has spent the last two seasons with Tranmere, where he made four senior appearances.

Mooney, 25, joined Wycombe Wanderers in 2011 but left the Buckinghamshire club after a season having failed to break into the first team.

He previously played in his home country for Ards, Bangor, Ards Rangers and Comber Recreation.
