YORK Acorn ARLC slumped to 30-6 defeat at Milford in National Conference League division one.

The visitors started brightly and dominated early possession and they took the lead on ten minutes when an Oliver Willcox-Harrison off-load helped get the ball wide for Reece Rushworth to go over. Antony Chilton goaled from the sideline.

Milford pressured the Acorn line and hooker James Coates darted over from a play-the-ball on 14 minutes. Winger Matthew Loveridge had an easy conversion to level.

On 21 minutes, Milford made a clearing kick direct from a scrum in their own 20-metre zone and Acorn knocked on, with second row Joe Ramsden eventually crossing for Loveridge to convert.

Acorn missed a scoring opportunity when Jordan Myers raced 50 metres on 30 minutes, only to drop the ball over the line.

Milford rounded off the first-half scoring on 38 minutes when Loveridge kicked a penalty after Acorn were penalised for a high tackle.

The hosts stretched their lead on 43 minutes when play-maker Josh Parle jinked his way over to the side of the posts, Loveridge converting.

On 46 minutes, Ryan Gallacher went over only to be brought back for a foot in touch.

Milford intercepted on the Acorn 25-metre line and Nathan Currie won the foot race to go over on 52 minutes and Loveridge converted.

Centre Whetu Austin then scored in the corner with the last play of the game.

Acorn's best performers were Joe Budd, Matthew Woods and Tom Hill.

There was no game for Heworth in division three.
