JOAN Hunter hit a maximum for Marcia ‘B’ in their 5-4 victory over York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League division one title contenders Five Lions.
Hunter also scored a 126 before Marcia captain Faye Hawksby hit two tons and checked out on 86 in the deciding pairs with Sharon Rishworth.
Wins for Hunter, Hawksby, Rishworth and Chris Hayward saw the home team enter the pairs with a 4-2 advantage.
However, successes for Lynn Thompson and Dawn Exton then Michelle Britton and Jill Reed set up the decider.
Leaders City Supporters had a full house at Burnholme.
Captain Tracey Farmeary led the way with five tons and vice-captain Bev Harton chipped in with scores of 140 and 134.
Mavis Gallimore and Sue Richardson were Severus ‘A’s only successes as Marcia ‘A’ kept up their pursuit for honours with a 7-2 win.
Di Moreland, Becky Thompson, Clair Cooper and Babs Harrison starred for the victors.
Acomb’s Laura Gatenby prevented Edinburgh from keeping a clean sheet in a 10-1 defeat.
Slipper raced into a 4-0 advantage against visitors Bootham Cons Club, with Sue Tate, Doreen Johnstone, Elaine Metcalfe and Karen Smith scoring victories.
However, Dot Trousdale kick-started Bootham’s revival and then partnered Kate Barnes to snatch victory.
Jo Hodges closed 116 – treble 20, treble 16, double four – in the pairs with Tramways colleague Ruth Norman, but her heroics came too late against visitors Magnet, who emerged as 5-4 winners.
The teams were tied at 3-3 entering the pairs, but Denise Fowler and Sandra Bruce then Wendy Shortle and Flossy Crampton secured victory for the visitors by the meanest of margins.
Severus ‘B’ got their season back on track after three bad results.
Michelle Kelly, Jeanette Stuart, Angie Kaya and Linda Goldsmith won to make sure the division two front-runners entered the pairs with a 4-2 advantage at Jubilee.
Brenda Dawe and Julie Oliver replied for Jub.
Kelly and Dot Sellars sealed victory for the club side.
A 60 checkout from Marcia Grey captain Maggie Bedingham and wins for Rosie Hattee and Eileen Haw saw them enter the pairs all-square with visitors Leeman.
Leeman sealed a 6-3 triumph with wins for Charlotte Witts and Margaret Yeomans then Debbie Witts and Denise Pittock.
Margaret Schofield and Christina Waddington added to their tally.
Linda Staveley and Abbie Scott were Castle Howard Ox’s match winners at Green Tree, who had recovered from a 4-2 deficit.
