Wigginton Ladies maintained their top position in the Country Bowls League after winning both rinks at Stewart.
Norma Davies won 20-11, while fellow skip Marjorie Watson hung on to triumph 15-14.
A maximum points win in the Challis League at home to Melbourne wwas racked up after winning rinks from skips Doreen Kilgour (19-12) and Jean Millar (20-13).
With three winning and one drawn match, Wigginton’s vets’ teams had a profitable day.
Colin Ellis’ ‘A’ team regained top spot in division two with a home win over Dringhouses ‘A’ led by skip Dave Jervis taking advantage of seven shots on the 12th end to comfortably come out on top 20-12.
The ‘B’ team led by Dave Imeson had a tough match at home to Barbican. Trailing 10-4 at the half-way stage, Wigginton recovered well to earn a draw 13 shots each.
Tom Davies’ ‘D’ team had a comfortable 19-10 win at Poppleton ‘C’, while David Moorhouse’s ‘E’ team sealed their second win on the spin at Copmanthorpe ‘B’ by 22-15.
Wigginton’s only losing side – John Armstrong’s ‘C’ team fell 18-13 to visitors Poppleton ‘B’.
There was a 72-51 reverse at home to a strong Kirbymoorside team in the BataGas Triples League with a consolation one point from the rink of skip Jean Millar (17-13).
