SNOOKER’S UK Championship, which is held in York in December, will continue to be televised by the BBC until at least 2016.

World Snooker have extended their current arrangement with the broadcaster, who will host the World and UK championships and the Masters until the end of 2016/17.

Last year’s UK Championship was won by Mark Selby.

World Snooker chairman Barry Hearn said: “This is wonderful news for the many millions of snooker fans throughout the UK.”

I hope the TV crew aren't expecting to dine sumptuously at the 'in house' catering outlet ( The Fishergate Restaurant). If so I strongly advise them to take a pack up with them!
