NEW Earswick All Blacks ARLC edged past hosts St Joseph’s to go up to fifth in the Pennine League championship.
After five games without a win, the All Blacks were 7-6 winners over their Huddersfield-based hosts.
The visitors took the lead with Louis Pool crossing for an unconverted try.
Tom Holmes added a penalty to make it 6-0 at half-time.
St Joseph’s hit back to level but All Blacks sealed victory with Liam Gargan kicking a drop goal, securing revenge for the previous week’s defeat to the same opponents.
New Earswick’s man of the match was Tom Holmes and he was backed up well by Reece Blake, Bobby Smith, Joe Davis and Alan Davidson.
There was no game for New Earswick ‘A’.
Selby Warriors’ home game with Stainland Stags in division three was postponed, while Selby ‘A’ were 22-14 winners at Moorends Thorne Marauders ‘A’.
