A PUB landlord and his family had a lucky escape after a crash in the Leeman Road area of York.
The accident happened at around 3pm yesterday, when a Toyota Celica sports car hit a signpost outside The Leeman pub in Stamford Street East.
The driver of the car was dazed by the crash, which sent a sign smashing through a dining room window belonging to the pub's landlord, Terry Stevens.
Mr Stevens said: "I'm more than a bit annoyed.
"The driver was just shaken, but it's just lucky it wasn't a bit later in the day or my daughter and grandchildren could have been in that room and things could have been a lot worse."
An ambulance was called to the scene, but no one was taken to hospital and no one is believed to have been hurt in the incident.
