ONE of the Selby College’s first students has been shortlisted for a string of national business awards.
Liz Burman went to Selby College between 1984 and 1986 and studied for a BTEC in business and finance.
She now runs the successful Lea Wood Cattery in Lincolnshire.
She is one of three finalists for the Gainsborough Business Awards in the categories of Best Small Business of the Year and Best Use of Innovation and Technology.
The business has also been shortlisted nationally as one of five finalists for UK Boarding Establishment of the Year with the Pet Industry Federation 2014.
Now Liz is now setting up a second online business offering pet hampers, called Paws4thought, and has already attracted an order from Made in Chelsea TV star Binky Felstead for her dog Scrumble.
