THE Wistow Scarecrow Festival will be held this weekend, with a medieval theme.

To coincide with the 800th anniversary of the All Saints Church in the village, period costume will be encouraged, and the Towton Battlefield Society will host a live history camp with craft and weapons displays and archery classes.

Other attractions will include vintage roundabouts and swings, bouncy castles, classic cars, barber shop choirs, and creepy crawlies on display.

The event runs from 10am on Saturday and Sunday in and around the village green. Entry costs £2 for adults, £1 for children over five, or £5 for a family ticket.
