Free loft and cavity wall insulation is being offered free for householders with children under the age of 16 in the Ryedale area. Ryedale District Council is working with Yorkshire Energy Partnership to make the offer to parents.
The scheme, which only lasts until March 31, aims to tackle fuel poverty by saving up to £310 on energy bills. The offer is subject to a free, no obligation home survey, and is on a first-come first-served basis.
Coun Linda Cowling said: “Insulation is the most effective way to keep your home warmer – and because of the extra heat you’re keeping in your house, you’ll be able to turn your heating down and save money on your bills.”
