A WOMAN who died suddenly in a York house had a history of drug dependency and depression, a York inquest was told.
The inquest opened today into the death of the 33-year-old woman, who was named as Lisa Peacock, neé Dowson, of Elmslac Close, Helmsley.
York Coroner Donald Coverdale said she had gone to a friend’s house in Rowntree Avenue, Clifton, last Tuesday, and watched TV in his room and fell asleep on the bed.
The friend, David Williamson, found her on top of the duvet at 5am, apparently asleep and then woke again at 8.20am, when he found she wasn’t breathing.
Paramedics attended, and it was confirmed that Mrs Peacock had died.
The Coroner said a post mortem had been carried out but a provisional cause of death could not be given as yet, as the results of tests were awaited.
The inquest was adjourned to a later date.
