VOLUNTEERS are being urged to join Ryedale’s Healthwatch team to have a say on health and social care services.
Sam Jones, Healthwatch North Yorkshire’s lay member for Ryedale, is recruiting volunteers, who will be trained to listen to people’s views, visit health and social care premises and spread the word about facilities available across Ryedale.
There are currently two volunteer roles on offer. The first is community engagement role where the volunteer will be responsible for gathering experiences, views and evidence from local communities about health and social care and use this information to inform and influence services.
There is also an enter and view volunteer role for someone who has good observational and report writing skills. Their role will be to visit health and social care services to observe how patients receive care, speak with patients and their carers about their services and write brief reports about observations.

The closing date for applications is Friday, March 13.
