NEW Rock Choirs will be launched in Malton, Selby and York.
The choirs, which have been seen on television documentaries, and choir leader Steve Brown - who has composed music for The One Show, Songs of Praise and Rip Off Britain - said he hoped local residents would come along and try it out.
He said: “Singing has long been recognised for having great benefits on body and mind.
“Hearing some of the feedback from Rock Choir members across the country, they don’t just come along for the singing, they also make a lot of new friends.”
The organisation has run for ten years, with more than 16,000 members in about 300 local communities, and no previous singing experience is needed.
