A WHITBY fish shop voted the best in the UK celebrated National Chip Week in vintage style this week.
Quayside of Whitby, which was voted the UK’s Best Independent Fish & Chip Takeaway, is asking customers to take a dip in its “dip of the day” this week, offering different chip and dip combination every day.
The restaurant has also commissioned a vintage style saucy postcard to commemorate their celebrations, created by artist and illustrator Neil Pearson who is famous for his paintings and sketches of the North Yorks coastline and its characters.
Stuart Fusco, head chef at Quayside, said: “Saucy postcards are as much part of the seaside experience as fish and chips, so we wanted to bring the two famous traditions together again in our own way.”
