FIVE people were arrested after an intruder broke into a house in Scarborough and drove away with a car.
Police were called to Fairfax Street in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Officers found the stolen Peugeot on Barrowcliffe Road where, at 1.45am, they arrested the driver, a 41-year-old Doncaster man, on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle and drink driving.
Two other men aged 41 and 42 from Scarborough were also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle.
Further inquiries led to the arrest of two Scarborough women aged 34 and 38 on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
All five remained in police custody for questioning yesterday.
