A SEVEN-MONTH dispute over the tail of a giant tuna fish sculpture in a North Yorkshire seaside town has ended.
Scarborough Borough Council had said the stainless steel spike on the sculpture, based on the town’s seafront, could catch and injure pedestrians, but the issue has been resolved after an agreement that the tail would stick out between nearby railings.
Retired teacher Maureen Robinson wanted the seven-foot sculpture, set on a 12ft stand, to be a Christmas gift to her hometown and asked an artist to create it.
