Appeal for crash witnesses

A CAR was badly damaged after having to take evasive action on a North Yorkshire road.

The crash happened on the A171 near Cloughton Bank, between Scarborough and Whitby, at 5.30pm on Monday. A Ford Ka heading towards Whitby had to swerve to avoid a car travelling in the opposite direction and overtaking a line of traffic.

The Ka’s driver was not injured, but North Yorkshire Police ask any witnesses to phone Traffic Constable Richard Hammond on 101.
