Nicola Sturgeon is more admired in the UK than the Prime Minister, according to a new poll.
The First Minister was the tenth most admired figure in the UK, just ahead of Theresa May at number 11.
The Queen took the top spot in the YouGov poll, followed by Michelle Obama, Dame Judi Dench and Harry Potter author JK Rowling.
German chancellor Angela Merkel beat both the First Minister and Prime Minister, coming in a number seven.
Other names in the top 10 include Joanna Lumley, equality campaigner Malala Yousafzai, Oprah Winfrey and Kate Middleton.
In the worldwide version of the poll, covering 35 countries, Bill Gates and Angelina Jolie were most admired.
An SNP spokesman said: “As Scotland’s first female First Minister, who has led the SNP to four national election victories and is a strong advocate for a fairer, progressive society, it’s no surprise that Nicola Sturgeon is well admired across the UK.”
