GARAGES and store buildings behind two Micklegate shops could be demolished to make way for two new town houses inside York city walls.
The owners of 97a Micklegate – situated on the corner with Priory Street – have applied for planning permission to pull down the existing buildings behind the post office and barber’s shop and build two homes instead. The three-storey houses would include integral garages and three bedrooms, as well as first-floor balconies, and would front on to Priory Street.
