WHELDRAKE, Strensall and Towthorpe could soon have their own local planning guidelines to make sure local views are considered when new planning applications are considered.
Consultations on Village Design Statements for Wheldrake and Strensall with Towthorpe have now both finished, and now the plans just need agreement from the cross-party Local Plan Working Group on Thursday, January 29, and council approval, to become part of official planning policies.
Village Design Statements are supported by City of York Council as a means of fostering good design, and have so far been completed in Heslington, Copmanthorpe, Rufforth, Skelton, Holtby, Murton, Dunnington, Poppleton, Askham Bryan, Askham Richard and Knapton.
