TRANSPORT plans in an area of York should be called in by the council, opposition councillors have said.
City of York Council agreed a new scheme for Jockey Lane, Huntington earlier this month, which will see a new pedestrian crossing, road surface improvements and a cycle path to Monk’s Cross.
Liberal Democrat and Green councillors have now called-in the decision for review, because they say the plans do not go far enough in tackling congestion and air pollution in the area.
Councillors Keith Orrell, Carol Runciman and Andy D’Agorne said alternatives should be considered before any money is spent.
The proposals will be reviewed at a meeting on January 19.
