WHAT do children want most from Santa this year? And what do they want him to tell them?
Royal Mail have analysed the contents of children's letters to Father Christmas, and this morning revealed the answers.
The most popular present requests are:
1 - Frozen merchandise
2 - Lego
3- Bike
4 - Scooter
5 - Barbie and accessories
6 - Tablet
7 - Peppa Pig
8 - One Direction merchandise
9 - Snow Glow Elsa
10 - Monster High dolls
The most popular toy is Frozen merchandise, knocking off one of the most traditional toys - Lego - from the top spot this year to second, with bikes third.
Royal Mail claim their survey beats other toy surveys, as it is based on analysis of what children themselves have asked for.
A spokesman said: "For more than 50 years, Royal Mail elves have helped Father Christmas with his mailbag of hundreds of thousands of letters each year, giving us a unique insight into what children really want for Christmas. Santa’s helpers analysed the children’s letters before sending them on to him in Reindeerland at the North Pole."
Royal Mail's head elf Alex McConnell said: “We are very pleased that Father Christmas allowed us to take a peek at what children are asking for this year, to see what they really want for Christmas.
"All the elves have enjoyed reading the heart-warming questions that children have been asking Santa and the festive cheer these letters bring.”
The study of the letters also revealed what children are asking Santa.
The seven most-common questions were:
- What will I leave you to eat on Christmas Eve?
- How do you deliver all the presents in one night?
- Do you want to have Christmas dinner with us?
- Do you like travelling in the snow?
- Do you have a sat nav?
- What do you do in the summer holidays?
- Do you ever get Christmas presents?
