HARROGATE could get two electric vehicle charging points after the District Council won a £69,000 grant from the Office for Low Emission Vehicles.
Harrogate Borough Council now has to secure match funding before it can instal the points which can charge an electric car in less than 30 minutes.
Coun Margaret Atkinson, cabinet member for public protection and rural affairs, said the points could benefit taxi firms, bus companies and private car owners and be the start of a network of recharging stations across the district.
