PUPILS and staff at Dringhouses Primary School in York are celebrating raising standards at their latest Ofsted inspection.
The school, in St Helen’s Road is rated “good” and has a number of outstanding features. Inspector James Kilner said in his report: “A wide variety of stimulating curriculum activities ensures pupils thoroughly enjoy their lessons and try hard to achieve well” and that the governing body “effectively guides school leaders in all aspects of their work”.
The report made particular mention of the “excellent provision through the Early Years’ Foundation Stage, which ensures that children make outstanding progress in all their areas of learning”
Head teacher Julia Elliott said: “We are delighted that this report recognises the hard work and dedication of all members of staff at the school, as well as the support we receive from parents and carers.
“We are also proud of the positive attitude and behaviour shown by our pupils. We aim to raise levels of attainment further by improving the way we plan for pupils’ precise learning needs. We also aim to further increase the governing body’s engagement with parents and carers.”
