HUNDREDS of students at York St John University had a proud day when they attended their graduation ceremony.

Higher National Diploma, Higher National Certificate and degree students graduated in subjects including health and life sciences, education and theology, business, communications, history and English literature, today and yesterday at York Minster.

During the ceremony, media graduate Svenja Hintz won the vice-chancellor’s prize for student business entrepreneurship.

Svenja, 28, who achieved a 2:1 classification, helped launch a new university-wide media magazine called Neutral in which she, along with fellow media students, was encouraged to produce content which debated various cultural issues.
