A Wolds jam maker has won two gold stars at the Great Taste Awards. Wolds Cottage Kitchen, which is based at Wetwang, East Yorkshire, was awarded two gold stars out of a possible three for its lemon curd.
Owner Melanie Moss said: “I was blown away by the success of the lemon curd. I had received great feedback from customers so decided to put the curd to the ultimate test and enter it into this year’s Great Taste Awards.
“It goes to show that it’s not only the big food producers who can win prestigious awards but small artisans like myself can too.”
Out of the 8,000 entries in the awards, 600 received two stars. The small business also won two awards at the World’s Original Marmalade Awards earlier this year.
