THIEVES have stolen charity bags left out for collection in an East Yorkshire town.

The bags, containing unwanted clothing, footwear and other goods, were aimed at helping the British Heart Foundation, with police saying they have been taken over the last two months from outside a number of homes in Beverley.

Humberside Police said they believe a group of men in a white van have called at several properties in the town and the surrounding area and taken the bags.

Anybody with information should phone PC Neil Fraser at Beverley police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
